UNITE HERE

UNITE HERE is a labour union representing approximately 300,000 working people across Canada and the United States. Its membership is predominantly composed of women and people of colour, with deep roots in organizing among garment and restaurant industry workers. The union traces its history to the garment and textile sectors and the labour struggles of immigrant and Black workers, including the historic Bread and Roses strike.

The union operates across a range of industries, including hotel, gaming, food service, manufacturing, textile, distribution, laundry, transportation, and airport services. UNITE HERE has led high-profile labour actions, including strikes at the Las Vegas Frontier Hotel & Casino and in Atlantic City. Its campaigns focus on securing safe, respected jobs that provide sufficient wages to live on, and it has built political power to engage new generations of voters.
