The Martin House Children's Advocacy Center, founded in 2009, is a non-profit organization serving child abuse victims across Gregg, Harrison, Upshur, and Marion counties in northeast Texas. The center coordinates a multidisciplinary team response that brings together forensic interviewers, medical professionals, therapists, and family advocates to support children and their families through the investigative and healing process.
Services provided by The Martin House include forensic interviews conducted when a child discloses abuse, medical examinations, trauma-focused therapy for children and families, and family advocacy support. The organization also runs community education and prevention initiatives aimed at reducing child abuse in the region. All services are offered free of charge, with the goal of minimizing trauma while maximizing support for victims.
Each year, The Martin House assists over 1,000 children. The center operates as a collaborative, child-focused organization, working with law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, and medical and mental health professionals to ensure a coordinated and compassionate response to each case.
