Common Cause

Common Cause is a nationwide advocacy organization founded in 1970 to promote democratic reforms and ensure government accountability for all citizens. It has operated for over fifty years, with a presence across all fifty states in the United States.

The organization has 1.5 million members and supporters and maintains more than 25 state offices. Its work includes landmark reforms such as lowering the voting age to 18, banning soft money in political campaigns, and the creation of the Office of Congressional Ethics.

Common Cause focuses on advocating for open government, defending voting rights, and addressing the influence of special interests in politics.
